Having symptoms is definitely abnormal.
Make sure that you have adequate sleep (before hiking) and water intake (during exercise). Beware of heat stroke (even in autumn time).

If your symptoms persist, you'd better see a doctor to rule out any underlying illness (which symptoms were provoked after exercise).

i experienced similar symptoms recently when i went hiking. I go hiking once a week, but usually get mild headache or even light fever after a whole day hiking under strong wind and sunshine.

Not sufficent water intake and lack of regular exerises I think.

One of my friends got headache and need to go to toilet on the way going up a small hill yesterday, she haven't do any exerise for a month and she brought no water with her and even haven't got nice sleep before the trip.

So, I found a natural toilet for her and forced her to drink around 250 ml plus salt water every 15 minutes.

She recovered very quickly in a short time and finished the trip within any problem.
